While recent tariff disruptions are good for some and not so good for others, American seafood aquaculture stands to gain with more favorable seafood trade relations.
FMAC is pleased to announce that Robin Pearl, President of American Mariculture Inc. on Pine Island, Florida, will be making a key presentation at the upcoming Marine Finfish Aquaculture Summit. His presentation, “Navigating New Waters: How Tariffs Could Ignite a Seafood Aquaculture Revolution in America” is based on decades of experience with international seafood aquaculture trade.

According to Mr. Pearl, “With new trade tariffs upending the dominance of certain seafood imports, a rare window has opened to resurrect American seafood aquaculture—an industry sidelined for decades. My presentation dives into how these disruptions could spark a bold resurgence, transforming the U.S. into a powerhouse of sustainable seafood production. We’ll unpack the stakes—jobs, food security, and economic growth—and chart a course to turn challenge into triumph.”

The FMAC Marine Finfish Aquaculture Summit, May 20 through 22, 2025 in Fort Pierce, Florida, will bring together invited speakers with expertise in seafood aquaculture. The Summit’s mission is to promote commercial, restoration, and stock enhancement aquaculture in the Region by bringing commercial, industrial and institutional stakeholders together to plan and promote near-term advancements in the industry.
