During the business trip to Saudi Arabia, one of the most notable visits was to Naqua – National Aquaculture Group, one of the world’s largest and most integrated aquaculture producers, with over 250 km² of facilities on the Red Sea coast.
What Makes Naqua a Benchmark in the Industry?
- 547 shrimp ponds (each approximately 10 hectares), 60 marine cages, and 201 land-based pre-grow out ponds, covering a total area of 4,485 hectares / 65 km of coastline.
- 60,000 tons of shrimp and 15,000 tons of fish produced annually.
- Implementation of biosecurity strategies, continuous monitoring, and controlled feeding.

The meeting with the Director of Fish Mr. Dusan Munjin and the Director of Shrimp Mr. Jairo Llanos provided a deep understanding of the company’s challenges and allowed for the exchange of innovative solutions in aeration, monitoring, feeding, and oxygenation.
This visit reinforces relationships with strategic industry leaders in the region and allows Imenco Chile to contribute its expertise in aquaculture innovation.
