St. John’s will be the host of what is expected to be the largest aquaculture conference in Canadian history in 2020.
The World Aquaculture Society (WAS) recently agreed to bring its conference to the St. John’s Convention Centre. It is partnering with Aquaculture Association of Canada (AAC) and Newfoundland and Labrador Aquaculture Industry Association (NAIA) to do so.
“WAS has been trying for many years to have a joint meeting in Canada and we are excited to have the opportunity to help organize a major aquaculture conference and exposition in Canada,” the executive director of WAS, John Cooksey, said in a news release. “We look forward to the world aquaculture community focusing on Canadian Aquaculture innovation.”
The conference is expected to draw 2,000 people from all over the world from Aug.30 to Sept. 2, 2020.
