After the launch of its first dedicated fish feed plant here in January, Cargill launched its technology application centre at Kaikaluru in the State on Wednesday, according to a press release.
The centre is designed to help aquaculture farmers access new innovations and apply the best possible solutions to grow healthy seafood. It covers 3.6 hectares of land that hosts 20 fish and shrimp ponds and features a training facility and research station to support innovation in aquaculture feed development.
By mid-2018, the company will open new technology application centres for aquaculture farmers in four countries, including Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and India, a press release said.
“India is an important and fast growing aquaculture market,” Chad Gauger, Managing Director of Cargill’s aquaculture nutrition business in South Asia, was quoted as saying.
