El Salvador has been officially selected as the host country of the Latin American & Caribbean Aquaculture 2026 (LACQUA26), one of the most important aquaculture events in Latin America and the Caribbean. The event will take place from October 27 to 30, 2026, at the Real Intercontinental San Salvador Hotel, in San Salvador, El Salvador.

LACQUA26 is organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Chapter of the World Aquaculture Society (LACC-WAS), in collaboration with the local organizer CENDEPESCA – Center for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, an agency of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of El Salvador, and with the support of CORTASUR – Salvadoran Tourism Corporation.

Why El Salvador?

El Salvador was selected as the host country due to its strategic location in Central America, the steady growth of its fisheries and aquaculture sector, its regional connectivity, and its strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and food security. LACQUA26 will provide an exceptional platform to showcase the aquaculture potential of El Salvador and the region to the Americas and the world.

Open Call

The organizing committee announces that the call for scientific and technical abstracts is now open, with submissions to be considered for oral and poster presentations during the conference.

The organizing committee also encourages all interested participants to take advantage of the best early registration rates available until August 1, 2026. Registration can be completed through the official link below:  https://www.was.org/Meeting/Registration/Submit/LACQUA26

In addition, commercial exhibition booths are now available for sale, offering companies, suppliers, universities, research centers, and industry stakeholders the opportunity to showcase products, services, technologies, and innovations at the largest aquaculture trade show in Central America, with strong regional and international projection.

LACQUA26 will bring together producers, researchers, academics, industry leaders, investors, and decision-makers, serving as a key forum for knowledge exchange, strategic partnerships, and the promotion of sustainable aquaculture development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
