The company became the first shrimp feed company in Vietnam and the 10th global to receive ASC certification
While Vietnam’s shrimp industry is facing tariff pressure and global competition, requiring advanced nutritional solutions for shrimp to meet export standards and optimize costs, the company Grobest announced that has upgraded its product, to help farmers more confidently conquer the international market.
Vietnamese shrimp face pressure from tariffs and international competition.
The volatile market forces farmers to adopt innovative solutions. Shortening the farming cycle and accelerating shrimp growth to market size has become a strategic priority. Meanwhile, major markets are tightening technical standards, prioritizing certified products such as ASC and BAP, traceability, and reduced environmental impact.
Upgrading the Entire Product Range
Over the past 25 years, Grobest has been at the forefront of providing innovative nutritional solutions to help farmers overcome market challenges. By 2025, Grobest Vietnam will proactively upgrade its entire product range. Core product lines such as Lead, Nice, Vannamei, and Eco, which have been improved early on, have already demonstrated superior performance in actual farming operations.
A notable example is Luu Chi Cong’s shrimp farming model in Bac Lieu. With technical support from Grobest and the trio of Gold Shield, Super Shield and Lead, Cong’s shrimp harvest yielded USD 114,678.90, with shrimp size reaching 27 per kg, FCR at 1.27, and costs at USD 3.10 per kg. This success marks the fourth consecutive year that Mr. Cong has achieved high-yield shrimp farming thanks to Grobest‘s support.
Grobest assured that has comprehensively upgraded its four main product lines to help shrimp meet export standards. Similarly, in Ca Mau, Huynh Vu Linh’s model reported a profit of USD 49,694.19, with shrimp sizes ranging from 18.7–25 per kilogram and an average daily growth rate (ADG) of 0.36–0.37, thanks to the application of the process and products Gold Shield, Vista Eco and Lead.
Building on this impressive track record, Tran Hoang On’s Grofarm PRO model in Bac Lieu further validates the success of the Grobest solution. The first farming cycle of 2025, spanning 11 ponds, yielded 62 tons of production and generated a profit of USD 133,792.05. In the second season, he continued to release 5 million shrimp larvae in May and maintained effectiveness with Gold Shield and Lead.
Increase of 32%
According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (VASEP), as of the end of May 2025, the Vietnamese shrimp industry recorded growth with export turnover reaching USD 1.7 billion, an increase of 32% compared to the same period last year, due to strong recovery in demand in many major markets.
Despite the positive results, the Vietnamese shrimp industry still faces many challenges, particularly from US tariff policies, as this market accounts for over 20% of total seafood export revenue. In July, although the US announced it would reduce retaliatory tariffs on Vietnamese goods, this remains a significant challenge for the shrimp industry.
Grobest Vietnam Pioneer to Meet ASC Standard
Grobest Vietnam also announced that proudly became the first shrimp feed company in Vietnam and the 10th global to receive Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certification, the prestigious international standard for aquatic feed manufacturers to meet strict environmental, social and traceability requirements.
For them, this event is a milestone that affirms Grobest’s pioneering position in the journey of providing high-quality, transparent and responsible aquatic feed, accompanying farmers in a more sustainable and professional direction.
The certification ensures that the input source is carefully selected, responsible for the environment and the community; transparent production process, strict management according to international standards; and minimize negative impact on the environment, contribute to the protection of aquaculture ecosystems.
According to the roadmap, by October 31, 2025, farms that want to provide products to high-end markets will be required to switch to using feed from ASC-standard factories. For the Aquaculture Stewardship Council, this shows that ASC certification is not only a trend, but will become a mandatory requirement in the global value chain. Grobest, with a pioneering advantage, is ready to accompany and support people to convert promptly and effectively.
For the ASC, the news is not only the joy of Grobest, “but also good news for shrimp farmers. Standard feed helps shrimp to be healthy, grow fast, optimize farming costs. In particular, the product also opens up opportunities to access the export market thanks to meeting strict requirements for sustainability and traceability”.
