Aquaintech Inc. (AITI) is pleased to announce the addition of Daniel Li to our team. He will be working on our internet presence and assisting with marketing and product registration. AITI is entering its 28th year and going strong. Focused largely on the use of bacteria in aquaculture, we have recently expanded our product line. Currently we can offer clients a range of tablet sizes and compositions including 65 and 125 mg, 1, 3, 5,10,16, 25 and 100 g. We also offer powdered products for blending in or top-dressing feed as well as blends that are in biodegradable bags for ease of use in slow moving bodies of water. We are field testing slow-release cartridges to gradually release bacteria over the course of an extended period. We are also exploring the use of substrates that our bacteria can colonize and that serve as a means for bacteria to enter the water column on an ongoing basis.
More than eighteen years ago AITI innovated and pioneered the concept of using tablet Bacillus spores in shrimp and fishponds based on a formulation of the only patented product approved for use in catfish farming. This approach ensured that the bacteria were where they were needed, in the sediments. Standard products at that time were powdered products that were grown up or activated on pond side prior to use.
Activation can carry considerable risk of adding undesirable bacteria to ponds if it is not done correctly. The tablets avoid this risk by not needing activation. Currently AITI enjoys a strong market share in SE Asia and South America including more than 20% market share in Ecuador.
The ease of use of tablets combined with our proprietary strains of bacteria that have been selected for their ability to produce a wide range of enzymes has allowed many farmers of shrimp, fish, bivalves, eel, etc., any animal that can be grown in a pond/raceway/RAS system, to experience the cost benefits of a cleaner environment.
The bacteria not only degrade organic matter, but they also break ammonia, urea and nitrites down while detoxifying hydrogen sulfide in anaerobic sediments. They also solubilize phosphates. Many benefits flow from a cleaner environment. These can include improved animal health as a result of added bacteria competing against potential pathogens for nutrients and better feed use efficiency.
While we sell our branded line (PRO4000X tablets, AquaPro B, F and EZ, etc.) we also produce private label products. This allows distributors to sell regionally popular blends of bacteria.
