Symrise Aqua Feed announced the appointment of Eduardo Hurel as Latin America and North America Sales Director. Since the last October 1st, Hurel oversees the business and performance in Latin America and North America. Based in Duran, Ecuador, he will also define and manage the sales and marketing strategy of his zone.

Hurel has been part of Symrise since 2018, when he successfully developed the fish and shrimp hydrolysate business in Ecuador and Latin America. According to the company’s press release, his experience and acknowledge of the market will help him to succeed in his new role.

It’s good to remember that Symrise Aqua Feed specializes in developing, testing, and manufacturing sustainable ingredients and palatability enhancers that help aquafeed manufacturers produce high performance diet and feed with low carbon footprint.

EUR 3.8 billion in sales in 2021

Strategic presidency

In other order of things, the 68th General Assembly of the International Organization of the Flavor Industry (IOFI) has appointed Jean-Yves Parisot as its new president. Parisot, Symrise President of Taste, Nutrition & Health, will chair the trade association for a term of two years until autumn 2025. During his presidency, he announced to focus on supporting the membership and the industry in strategic matters.

Parisot, will be chairing IOFI‘s twelve-member Board composed of six company member representatives and six association member representatives. He will promote the continued industry volunteer engagement, fostering IOFI’s dialogue with all, stakeholder engagement and resource efficiency allowing IOFI to respond to the most relevant challenges in the area of taste, nutrition and health.

In his inaugural speech Parisot stated “I feel extremely pleased to be elected President of such an important organization. IOFI acts as a guarantor for a predictable and sustainable business environment based on sound science and regulatory harmonization. I feel proud to be the “captain” of such an impressive team and I am looking forward to working with my Board colleagues, the IOFI Secretariat and the multiple committees and working groups to fulfill our strategic objectives to the best interest of our fascinating industry.”
