At the occasion of the AQUA2018 joint conference & tradeshow of the World Aquaculture Society WAS and the European Aquaculture Society EAS with the Conference slogan #WeRAquaculture we are the producers and investors, the scientists and technical advisors, the legislators and educators, the students, civil society organizations and consumers of farmed aquatic products the FAO Fisheries & Aquaculture Department, the European Commission and the AQUA2018 conference organizers are proudly announcing the AQUA2018 Press Conference at 18.00h on August 27th, 2018 at the Corum, Montpellier in France with the following speakers:
– Dr Árni Mathiesen, Assistant Director General, FAO Fisheries & Aquaculture Department
– Mr Karmenu Vella, EU Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries
– High-level representatives from a number of leading aquaculture countries such as China, Norway, Thailand,
Ecuador and Africa
During the follow-up reception selected aquaculture products prepared by chef Jacques Pourcel can be tasted and
journalists will be able to meet with key stakeholders who have contributed to the Press Map, listing key aquaculture
stakeholders, companies and organisations from around the world.
Interested journalists participating in the press conference can register for an aquaculture field visit on August 27th
(10:00-15:00h) at the largest research infrastructure dedicated to mariculture in France in Palavas-les-Flots (a coastal
city near Montpellier).
