Seafood Expo Global 2026 to Open in Barcelona a New Pavilion Dedicated to Innovation in Aquaculture

Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global, the world’s largest and most diverse seafood trade event that brought over 35,000 people to its 2025 edition celebrated at Barcelona, announced a brand-new aquaculture innovation pavilion. The pavilion will connect companies on the forefront of aquaculture technology, software, equipment as well as aquafeed, fish health and welfare companies with the global seafood industry. The pavilion will debut at the upcoming trade event which will take place 21-23 April 2026 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Vía venue in Barcelona, Spain.

Suppliers, startups and researchers delivering breakthrough solutions in farm management, environmental monitoring, smart feeding, fish health, genetics, water treatment and beyond are invited to exhibit in the new pavilion which will attract a highly targeted global audience of hatcheries staff, investors, policymakers and other innovators in the aquaculture space.

World’s Largest and Most Diverse Seafood Trade Event

Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global, the world’s largest and most diverse seafood trade event, closed its 31st edition with more than 35,000 seafood industry professionals. For three days, seafood suppliers and buyers around the world discussed the latest food trends and innovations and explored future solutions to the major challenges facing the sector.

This year, the Expo brought together 2,187 exhibiting companies from 87 countries and 68 national and regional pavilions in more than 51,217 net square meters of exhibit space. Taking place at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Vía Venue, the Expo occupied Halls 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and the Galleria (between halls 4 and 5). The economic impact for the city was estimated in more than USD 181.79 million.

The event received this year new participation from countries and regions including Albania, Egypt, Georgia, Greenland, Malta, Nigeria and Réunion with new national and regional pavilions from Agencia de Gestion Agraria y Pesquera de Andalucia, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), Japan Federation of Soy Sauce Manufacturers Cooperatives, ProEcuador, Sri Lanka Export Development Board and Instituto Valenciano de Competitividad Empresarial, IVACE (Spain) and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
