China Rules Aquaculture as Fish Output Triples in Decade

World‘s fishing production only grows at six percent a year on average.
China dominates global aquaculture, producing $131.7 billion of farmed fish in 2015, according to a report from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. The total value of the country’s wild and farmed fish has more than tripled in a decade, it said Tuesday. World aquaculture output, including plants, has grown at an average 6 percent a year since 2006 and already exceeds catches of wild fish.
