Funding announced for new regional aquaculture centre in Coast of Bays in Canada

The provincial government is contributing over $150,000 towards a new regional aquaculture centre currently being developed in the Coast of Bays region by the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University.

Fisheries and Land Resources Minister Steve Crocker Minister announced $131,500 in funding on behalf of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation to assist the Marine Institute in the development of the new centre today.

The Department of Fisheries and Land Resources has also provided $25,000 towards the project.

The centre will direct its activities around labour market research with industry, helping to identify and develop training programs.
