Peru and Vietnam agree on cooperation in aquaculture

The memorandum was signed within the framework of official activities of the XXIV Summit of Leaders APEC PERU 2016, held in Lima.

Peru: The Minister of Production of Peru, Bruno Giuffra and Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, Vu Van Tam, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Fisheries Development, with emphasis on aquaculture.

The memorandum was signed within the framework of official activities of the XXIV Summit of Leaders APEC PERU 2016, held in Lima.

The purpose of these agreements is to establish a mutually beneficial aquaculture cooperation framework, including the training of experts in the field.

Among the actions that will be developed, what is highlighted is the work in the target areas, consisting of field visits to the areas of interest for the development of aquaculture.

Furthermore, field visits to the Asian country by representatives of the Ministry of Production of Peru and similar action towards the South American country by experts from Vietnam.

The areas of cooperation will include post-harvest research, education and training and development, and food security.
